Civics 101
I voted on my way in to work this morning using one of those electronic voting machines, the Diebold Accuvote-TSX (with a name like that, I feel like a terrorist sympathizer by complaining about it). The machine I was using picked the wrong selection twice; easy enough to fix since I was paying attention (it voted for one Democrat and one Republican so I guess I can’t accuse it of being biased). However, I can easily see how incorrect votes would be cast if someone was in a hurry / wasn’t paying attention and I do have to have blind faith that my votes were actually recorded correctly since there is no paper trail from this machine.
Now I get to sit back and wait for the results. I’m hoping that enough people feel the same as I do and vote for some big changes in our government. We shall see.
