Well Wishes
Dan Gillmor, the most excellent and oft-cited at GogBlog journalist at the San Jose Mercury-Times, has left his position in order to work on a project that he hopes will “inspire, enable and create what many have been calling a new kind of journalism”. Although I will miss his insightful reporting, I wish him the best with his future endeavors.
Semi-related to this, William Gibson posted a very apropos quote from William James:
I am done with great things and big plans, great institutions and big success. I am for those tiny, invisible loving human forces that work from individual to individual, creeping through the crannies of the world like so many rootlets, or like the capillary oozing of water, which, if given time, will rend the hardest monuments of pride.
Keep this in mind as the powers-that-be strive to continue driving this country into the ground.
